IXOOXI ART COLLECTIVE 

Members of the IXOOXI art collective, Sofia Saari, Mira Ollila, and Ilmari Mäenpää, work within the fields of visual arts, sculpture, dance and glass art, as well as design and music composition. 

The art collective creates multi-sensory and interactive artworks. In our pieces, we utilize reflective surfaces, lights, diverse forms of movement, sound, and multi-sensory materials. We bring to life artworks where motion and time exist in a fascinating state of transformation. This can create an illusion that enables a holistic art experience. 

In terms of content, our work delves deep into the sensitive and rugged terrain of the Nordic region, where nature strongly influences the thematic universe of our artworks. We offer perspectives on the consumption of nature while also exploring the possibilities of experiencing its beauty and immersive qualities within constructed and constructive environments. Thematically, we are strongly connected to the roots of Finland's Lapland and the vast seascapes of maritime environments.
